CAPTAIN AMERICA: THE WINTER SOLDIER DVD/Blu-Ray Details Announced; No New One-Shot
Captain America: The Winter Soldier is still burning up the box office in a few locations, but today Marvel and Walt Disney Home Entertainment have announced the home video release details for the mega-successful sequel directed by the Russo Brothers. The Blu-ray and DVD details, as well as the cover art, have been revealed along with the somewhat upsetting news that we will not be getting a new one-shot when it hits store shelves September 9th.
The movie will be available on Digital 3D, Digital HD, and Disney Movies Anywhere on August 19th, but it won’t be available on Blu-ray, DVD, and on Demand until September 9th. You can check out the covers for the Blu-ray 3D + Blu-ray and Digital HD copy as well as the regular Blu-ray release below. There will be various special releases and steel covers released as well, but those details haven’t been released in full just yet. The special features listing includes:
- Making-of Featurettes
- Audio Commentary
- Never-Before-Seen Deleted Scenes
- And More…
Sadly though, Entertainment Weekly has confirmed that there will be no one-shot for the upcoming home video release. The one-shots have grown in size and scale since kicking off with Item 47 on The Avengers Blu-ray, but it seems Marvel is sitting this one out. I guess they’re putting their time and effort into their upcoming TV series inspired by a recent one-shot, Agent Carter. What do you think about the news? Were you hoping to get a new one-shot?
