CAPTAIN AMERICA 3 Writers Comment On The Upcoming BATMAN VS. SUPERMAN/CAP 3 Showdown
Earlier today we learned that the then unnamed Marvel movie scheduled for May 6th, 2016 was Captain America 3. That meant that the First Avenger would be going up against Batman vs. Superman, which had been moved up one week since Marvel wouldn’t flinch. You can read all the details from this morning by clicking here. Well this evening Captain America 3′s scriptwriters, Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely, have commented on the upcoming showdown.
Speaking with The Hollywood Reporter, Markus said that the story for Captain America 3 is pretty well in place. He told the site, “We’ve had many, many conversations, and pretty much know where we’re going.” With the story ironed out and scriptwriting probably already underway, all that’s left is getting all the actors in place and figure out the filming schedule. When the film is released, it will hit one week after DC‘s big Batman and Superman team-up flick. Each film will undoubtedly serve as some stiff competition for the other. Someone might blink and a film could be pushed farther up or back so everyone makes even more money than they will already. Markus said of the showdown “I think when two cars drive at each other, somebody has to veer off eventually.”
I wouldn’t bet on Marvel backing down. They have had box office dominance for years. DC has something to prove after a mixed response to Man of Steel, so they’ll come out swinging with Ben Affleck wearing the cowl. We’ll have to wait and see how things play out, but what do you think about the writer’s comments?
