Candice Patton Talks Iris West’s Relationship With Barry Allen In THE FLASH
Other than the show is pretty much a lock to get picked up, news on The Flash TV show has been pretty quiet. As of right now they have probably screened a rough cut of the pilot for CW brass, and are putting the finishing touches on it for general public consumption which will probably happen latter this fall.
While new has been slow, we do have a little bit of info to pass along. Candice Patton, who plays Iris West on the show, was recently on a red carpet for a movie premiere where she was asked about Iris and what we can expect from her in the show. “I play Iris West,” she explained. “She’s the love interest of Barry Allen, who is The Flash. She’s the romantic little number in the show. She’s kind of Barry’s support. She is like the Lois Lane to Superman. She’s there for him throughout all of his mishaps during the show. She’s just kind of his rock.”
Barry is orphaned at a young age as his mother is killed and his father is the suspected killer. The rumor for the show is that Barry will have grown up living with Iris and her family, and when he grows up he becomes a forensic scientist to prove his father’s innocence. News on if the show has been picked up is expected as early as this week, but most likely wont come until later next week when the CW announced their Upfronts.
