Bryan Singer Says Peter Dinklage Isn’t Puck Or The CGI Character In Days Of Future Past

dinklageWe’ve been having an X-Men overload the past few weeks. Bryan Singer has talked about it quite a bit while out promoting his upcoming film Jack the Giant Slayer. The director has also been tweeting behind-the-scenes pics and teasing a Days of Future Past presence at Comic Con this year. But today in an interview with IGN, Singer let’s us know a little bit more about Peter Dinklage‘s character.

When The Dink was first announced many immediately jumped to the conclusion that he would play Wolverine‘s Alpha Flight pal Puck, but Singer shot that down saying it isn’t so. Then people though he would play the fully CGI character Singer has been teasing in recent interviews. Well, the director shoots that one down as well:

He’s not going to be a CGI character. He’ll be himself. Not that he’ll be playing Peter Dinklage, he’ll be playing this character. It’s not a shy character. He’s just such a phenomenal actor; I’m a huge fan of Peter’s and Game of Thrones. He was my first choice and I was really happy [about the casting]. It’s so funny to talk to him because he does that impeccable accent [on Game of Thrones] and then you talk to him and he’s this guy from New Jersey.

So hes not Puck and he’s not anyone that would require CGI. That lends a little credence to the rumor he’ll be Bolivar Trask, the creator of the Sentinels. I hoped The Dink would be M.O.D.O.K., but I don’t think Fox has the rights to him anyway. Regardless of who he’s playing, he is definitely a great addition to the cast. Speaking of which, Singer said expect more announcements about other additions and “younger” characters soon. What do you think? Any guesses on Dinklage’s role? Who will be added next?
