Bryan Singer Forced To Talk To Mark Millar?

millar bannerThat title may be a little harsh, but there is definitely a bit of a stench to the pleasantries exchanged between director Bryan Singer and Fox’s Marvel movie consultant Mark Millar. You may remember it was a week ago today that the director said Mark Millar had no involvement with Days of Future Past in an interview with Bleeding Cool. Singer’s comments had a little bite to them when talking about the Marvel movie consultant:

I’ve not spoken to Mark Millar at all. He’s not involved. I don’t know what his role is about. All I know is that I have my own specific beliefs about how to take this universe forward. I started with the first X-Men, then First Class and now I am combining them and I think it could go further than that and I have some ideas about that, so perhaps he should chat to me at some point.

So sometime between then and now, the two men have had at least a brief chat about the upcoming film. Singer fired off the first comment with Millar following a few hours later.

That in no way seems like a PR forced exchange about the two working together on the film, does it? I may just be a tad too cynical about the whole thing, but the niceties just seem to come out of nowhere after Singer said in a few separate interviews that he wasn’t exactly knocking on Millar’s door to get his thoughts on the film. Maybe they made nice and started exchanging notes. With Singer and Millar both making the usual rounds pretty heavily, I’m sure we’ll hear more about what they talked about before too long. What do you think? Are the two thick as thieves now or did someone step in and tell Singer to cool it?
