Bryan Singer Confirms Patrick Stewart And Ian McKellen’s Return For X-Men: Days Of Future Past

When the title Days of Future Past was announced for the First Class sequel, many figured that the original X-Men cast would be taking part in some way considering the time traveling plot of the comic book. While there were rumors and hints about the original cast’s involvement, there was nothing too solid. Now director Bryan Singer has taken to his Twitter account to welcome Sir Patrick Stewart and Ian Mckellen back into the X-fold.
The director recently joined Twitter and has been tweeting about the movies he is working on. Currently in New Zealand to see the premiere of The Hobbit, Singer took the time to welcome a few people back for the First Class sequel.
I’d like to officially welcome back James McAvoy, Jennifer Lawrence, Michael Fassbender, & Nicholas Hoult to #XMEN for #DaysOfFuturePast

Thrilled to announce @ianmckellen118 & @sirpatstew are joining the cast of #XMEN #DaysOfFuturePast #magneto #professorX More to come…

He said more to come, so there could be some more cast additions both new and old. Be sure to check back for any new developments with this bit of news. It will be interesting to see how big of a role older Magneto and Charles have in the film. The thought of Fassbender and McKellen coming together in the film is pretty exciting. What do you think of this news? Are you glad the original Charles and Eric are back?
