Blu-ray Cover And Release Info For Superman: Unbound
Just a few days ago we got a trailer for Superman: Unbound, DC animation’s next project, and today we get a look at the Blu-ray cover along with some more info about the release. The story of Unbound is based off of Geoff Johns and Gary Frank’s 2008 Superman:Braniac features the voice talents of Matt Boemer as Superman, John Nobleas Brainiac, Stana Katic as Lois Lane, and Molly Quinn as Supergirl.
DC announced that the DVD/Blu-ray will hit stores on May 7,2013. Along with that announcement comes a look at the Blu-ray cover [click cover to expand] (from The HDRoom via Unleashthefanboy) and the details on the discs special features. The Blu-ray will come with a sneak peek of the next animated flick Justice League: Flashpoint and a feature called From the Vault: Bonus Cartoons.
We had been hearing things about a possible Flashpoint animated movie, so it will be nice to get our first look at that. Kevin Conroy has stated he’s recorded voices for that, so there may be a slightly larger role for either Batman or one of the related alternate universe characters. You can probably guess who he could voice if you’re familiar with the story. From the vault will probably just be a few selections for the Justice League animated series of Superman: The Animated Series. Regardless, it looks like this is shaping up to be a good one. The last Superman film, Superman vs. The Elite, wasn’t received so warmly so maybe this one will be a great outing for Big Blue. What do you think? Will you be picking this one up in May?
Superman: Unbound finds the horrific force responsible for the destruction of Krypton – Brainiac – descending upon Earth. Brainiac has crossed the universe, collecting cities from interesting planets – Kandor, included – and now the all-knowing, ever-evolving android has his sights fixed on Metropolis. Superman must summon all of his physical and intellectual resources to protect his city, the love of his life, and his newly-arrived cousin, Supergirl.
