Bendis Shoots Down Rumors Saying All Is Well In The Ultimate Universe

Yesterday we heard another rumor said to originate at the Marvel creative summit. Word on the web was that an Avengers vs. Ultimates story coming in 2014 would ultimately result in the Ultimate Universe ending in published print form. Ultimate Spider-Man writer Brian Michael Bendis took to his social media outlets to comment on the story.
Bendis is very active on tumblr, and used the platform to address the big rumor when a fan asked a question about a possible Ultimates story in the vein of the Ultimate Doomsday or Ultimate Galactus trilogy:
I am happy to report that we are cooking a couple of interesting projects with the ultimate universe along the lines. ultimate doomsday was a project very close to my heart.
I am also happy to report that the ultimate universe is in healthy shape and not going away anytime soon, contrary to some irresponsible reporting out there today
He also reiterated it on his Twitter:
The Ulitmate universe is not cancelled! the concept of legit comics reporting seems to be on its last legs though

Bendis tends to get a little catty in shooting down rumors, just watch him any time a rumor about the long gestating Powers TV show hits the web. That’s part of his charm though. Bendis is arguably the most prominent writer handling the Ultimate Universe, so he probably has some insights on the world. But to play devil’s advocate, Bleeding Cool said it would end “in print published form at least.” Could that mean Ultimates goes all digital? Who knows. What do you think?
