Ben Affleck May Be Directing The Justice League

Well Christopher Nolan had shot down the idea numerous times that he would be signing up for Justice League, so WB had to look for somebody to direct their answer to The Avengers. Word is breaking today through Variety that WB may have found their man in Ben Affleck.
Vareity reports that Affleck is expected to discuss the project with WB this week. Since his success with The Town, Affleck has ranked high on WB’s list of directors. Affleck is reportedly the only directing candidate that has been sent Will Beall’s Justice League script. Another interesting thing in the report is that the film “is expected to bring together marquee characters Batman and Superman, as well as Green Lanter, Wonder Woman and The Flah.” Affleck is also on record in the past that he wouldn’t direct anything he didn’t star in so it’s possible he may be suiting up.
This is all up in the air now, but it makes for some interesting news. First off, it sounds like Aquaman and Martian Manhunter are going to be left out of the film. That is a slight blow, but those are characters that the film can do without (let’s be honest about it). Affleck is a great director, and his acting has improved over the years. I can think of worse people they could choose. What do you think of the Affleck possiblity?

According to Deadline. They fight with Variety all the time. It’s hard to say for sure. Just have a week or so until something official happens since “talks” are about to get underway.
