Batsgiving Teaser For BATMAN: ETERNAL Is Stuffed Full Of Clues And Easter Eggs
Earlier this morning Batman super scribe Scott Snyder took to Twitter to tease the upcoming weekly Batman series, Batman: Eternal. The ‘showrunner’ of the weekly series that will reintroduce Stephanie Brown into the New 52, among other things, showed off a festive image of the Bat-family celebrating Thanksgiving. The image from artist Jay Fabok isn’t just a promotional piece though, Snyder said it holds a lot of clues about some of the book’s storylines.
The macabre Thanksgiving image shows the extended Bat-family and several of Gotham‘s most notorious villains gathering to celebrate the holiday. You can pour over the image below, but a few things do immediately jump out: the Owl on the tree limb is a stand in for the Court of Owls, that looks to be Stephen Brown hidden amongst the guests, Professor Pyg is hanging out with Penguin, and Joker‘s Daughter is spying on Catwoman under the table. If I’m not mistaken, it looks like Nightwing has dyed his hair blonde and changed up his costume a little as well. If that is indeed Dick Grayson, it makes since considering his identity was revealed in Forever Evil. We might see the fallout of that event playing out in part in Batman: Eternal. The first image is the one released by Snyder with the labeled one being put out by DC shortly after the Twitter post. You can click either one to see the images much larger. What else do you spot in the teaser?
