Avengers: Age Of Ultron Rumors Give Us A Possible VISION Of What Joss Whedon Has In Store

ultronNow before we dive in, let’s go ahead and get our salt shakers out. Some rumors regarding Joss Whedon‘s Avengers sequel have been posted on 4Chan (via CBM) by someone claiming to work for Marvel. They posted the picture you see below as proof of their employment. It’s a small image of a Marvel exhibitor tag with a note about the /co/ thread he/she posted in. The unnamed worker posted some juicy Avengers details if they are indeed true.

exhibitorThe thread was started just before the James Spader as Ultron news broke. The leaker mentioned that they heard the Marvel “big shots” talking about Avengers: Age of Ultron and how Spader was the metal menace. The leaker also heard that Earth’ Mightiest would possibly be fighting multiple Ultrons. Whether they would be Ultron minions or the AI is already replicating himself and making new versions wasn’t clear. But here’s the real meat and potatoes of the thread. Jarvis, voiced by Paul Bettany, will become Vision.

According to the anonymous poster, Jarvis will attempt to hack Ultron and shut it down. To do so, Jarvis has to make physical contact. For that to happen Jarvis makes himself a host body that becomes Vision. It is then Jarvis (as the newly christened Vision) takes down the villainous AI. Now if that is true, that would mean Paul Bettany should be signing a new contract pretty soon. His Marvel obligations was completed after Iron Man 3. The actor has admitted he’s never watched any Marvel movies, but if the studio offers him a good deal and he likes the script, it’s not too odd to think he would sign up and possibly do some motion-capture for the role. Iron Man 3 had semi-sentient Iron Man suits being controlled by Jarvis. It wouldn’t be too far of a leap to have Jarvis do some heroics of his own. Again, take this with a good deal of salt for now, but this is definitely worth talking about. What do you think about the possibility of Jarvis going from Stark‘s digital butler to a full-fledged hero? Is this just more wishful thinking like all those stories about Coulson being Vision?
