Anthony Mackie Loves Falcon’s Wings; Sebastian Stan Says There’s No Time For Fallen Heroes In The Winter Soldier
The cast of Captain America: The Winter Soldier walked the press line after Marvel‘s presentation Saturday at the D23 Expo in Anaheim. While the panel itself didn’t reveal too much in the way of new information, the stars of the upcoming Phase 2 flicks did talk a little about what’s in store for moviegoers. IGN caught up with Anthony Mackie and Sebastian Stan to try and squeeze the actors for new info.
Anthony Mackie, who has stolen the show during press events and Captain America panels with his charm and humor, touched on the physicality of bringing The Falcon to life in the Russo Brothers directed sequel. He describes the stunts and wire work as “physically grueling.” He commends the Russo‘s for using practical effects over CGI whenever they could, but that meant he really had to take to the skies during filming. He reveals that he’s terrified by wire work and the heights that came with it, so that wasn’t the greatest time for him. He went on to reiterate that he hasn’t heard anything about Falcon being in Avengers: Age of Ultron or even the S.H.I.E.L.D. show, but everyone should definitely keep bugging Kevin Feige about it. Mackie jokes that they should kick Iron Man out and let Falcon be the flyer.
Sebastian Stan was a little more coy and stoic with his answers. He was asked if the Winter Soldier is a villain or a fallen hero in the film. After thinking about the question for a bit, he said there were “no fallen heroes allowed” in this story. You can watch the full video below. Captain America: The Winter Soldier hits theaters March 4, 2014.
