All-New Guardians Of The Galaxy Headlining MARVEL’s Free Comic Book Day Issue
Free Comic Book Day doesn’t happen until May, but Marvel has gone ahead and released information about their 2014 issue. The headliner of the book will be the Guardians of the Galaxy, which doesn’t come as too big of a surprise since they have a movie coming up in August. Newsarma had the details on the story and special Spider-Man backup.
The Guardians story will help “shape the Marvel Universe for the next year and beyond” as most every Marvel story does nowadays. The issue will also feature the first look at the all-new Guardians of the Galaxy. Brian Bendis and artist Nick Bradshaw will introduce two new members to the group. One has been revealed as Captain Marvel, but the other is a mystery figure who will be revealed at a later date. Marvel says the silhouetted figure is someone “you’d never expect to see with the Guardians of the Galaxy! And this mysterious character is about to set off a chain reaction that takes our heroes to the farthest reaches of space – on a collision course with one of the deadliest threats in the cosmos!” The issue will also feature a back-up story from Dan Slott and Giuseppe Camuncoli that will lay the groundwork for the big Spider-Man event coming in the summer of 2014. Free Comic Book Day kicks off May 3, 2014. What do you think of Marvel‘s early announcement?
