Alex Ross’ AMAZING SPIDER-MAN #1 Cover Lives Up To The Adjective
Marvel recently announced that Peter Parker would be back in control of his bodily functions after Doc Ock took over as the Superior Spider-Man for 13 months (our time at least) and The Amazing Spider-Man would be relaunched with a new #1 issue. There will obviously be a plethora of covers and variant covers for Dan Slott and Humberto Ramos‘ “new” series, but one of the most sought after variants will be from Alex Ross. The artist’s stunning variant was revealed earlier today.
Ross has largely retired from interior art, but he provides many cover each and every month for different publishers. Ross will return to Marvel this year to do one cover each month. We had already seen his spectacular Daredevil cover for March (click here to see it again), but now we know his April cover will be an Amazing Spider-Man cover that is…well, amazing. Newsarama unveiled the cover as it appears Diamond‘s February edition of Previews. This variant is officially called the Amazing Spider-Man #1 Alex Ross 75th Anniversary Variant. That will help you track it down. What do you think about Ross‘ latest Marvel cover?
