AGENTS OF S.H.I.E.L.D. Can’t Guard Against Another Ratings Drop
While Agent Ward and Fitz may not have had an extraction plan, viewers had one- their remotes. The show had its sixth consecutive ratings drop (there have only been six episodes since the pilot) hitting a new low of 6.63 million viewers. That’s still a strong number, but you have to remember it started out with nearly 13 million folks tuning in. The Wrap had the ratings for all of last night’s shows, but they reports that “Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. at 8 earned a 2.2/6 — its lowest to date — and 6.6 million viewers.”
The skip three weeks ago really hurt S.H.I.E.L.D.‘s ratings, but it seems the show is continuing to hemorrhage viewers at a pretty consistent rate. It seems the majority of folks aren’t intrigued enough by how Coulson was revived to stick around. It will be interesting to see if the ratings will level out now. We’re through trial period of most show’s and S.H.I.E.L.D. is hitting its stride and becoming a pretty good show, but it isn’t living up to people’s hopes and expectations. Next week’s Thor: The Dark World themed episode might be the kick the show needs to keep things going. Only time will tell. What do you think about S.H.I.E.L.D. so far?
