Adrianne Palicki Talks Wonder Woman Pilot And G.I. Joe Delays

Adrianne Palicki talked with Collider about the long-delayed remake of Red Dawn that will finally be appearing in theaters this Thanksgiving week. While the actress talked in-depth about her experiences making the film and working with Chris Hemsworth, she did talk about two other projects.

Palicki was cast in the TV series of Wonder Woman which eventually didn’t even make it to a finished pilot. The actress talked about how she took the news and how honored she was to put on the suit.

I’m not going to lie. I’m serious. And then, I have to remind myself that I love what I do. If I get to do one job a year, or if I get to just do my job, even if people don’t get to see it, I’m doing my job and it’s making me happy. I’ve got to just keep fighting through it and do it, and hope that eventually people see what I’m doing. But, I was devastated. Believe me, I was inconsolable for a good two months. And then, I had to realize that I had a Wonder Woman costume fitted for my body. I got to play that part on film. Not many people get to say that, and that’s cool. Maybe I’ll get to do it again, in a bigger arena. Who knows?

Red Dawn isn’t the only delayed movie Palicki has starred in. G.I. Joe Retaliation, as we all know, has been pushed back 9 months. While we’ve heard a lot about the delay, Palicki throws in her thoughts on the 3D conversion and how she felt when she heard the news.

I was like, “Really?! Oh, my god!” I felt like, “Am I a bad luck charm? I don’t understand!” But again, that movie really came down to the fact that they didn’t want to be sandwiched in between two huge blockbuster movies and get trampled. I don’t think it would have, but I understand them being safe. And they also wanted to make it 3D, genuinely. So, I was like, “Okay, I get it.” There’s a reason for everything, I guess.

Palicki could easily be upset about the two films delays and the failed Wonder Woman show, but the actress seems pretty upbeat and positive about the roles she has taken on. While the Wonder Woman pilot was just horrible, it was no fault of Palicki. It would be interesting to see her get another shot with a better script. What do you think? Should Palicki take up the golden lasso again in the future?
