Add Joseph Gordon-Levitt To The Guardians Of The Galaxy Mix
Add another name to the list of contenders for Guardians of the Galaxy’s leader. Joseph Gordon-Levitt is now said to be in contention for the role of Peter Quill aka Star-Lord in the James Gunn directed Marvel flick.
Deadline is reporting that the Dark Knight Rises star joins the likes of Joel Edgerton (Zero Dark Thirty), Jack Huston (Boardwalk Empire), Jim Sturgess (Cloud Atlas), Lee Pace (The Hobbit), and possibly Zachary Levi (Chuck, Thor: The Dark World) for the coveted role in Marvel’s next big franchise. While it’s not clear if JGL had been offered the role, it’s a sure thing he’s in the mix. Other than that there isn’t a lot to go on. Director James Gunn shot down some of the casting rumors a few weeks ago, so it seems the race is wide open for the role.
If JGL lands the role, this would put the final nail in the coffin for those Justice League rumors. Nolan’s last Bat film put John Blake in a position to don the cowl, leaving many to think he may pop up in the Justice League movie. This is an odd rumor considering Nolan’s films are set in their own world. Levitt has been riding a wave of recent hit movies so it makes sense he would be a major contender in Marvel/Disney’s eyes. What do you think of the possibility? Is JGL Star-Lord?
