Aaron Johnson May Go On To Kick-Ass In Avengers 2
The Wrap is reporting that Kick-Ass star Aaron Johnson is the frontrunner to play Quicksilver in Joss Whedon‘s Avengers sequel. The site has a source close to the project who said Johnson is being eyed for the role and is the top choice right now for the
mutant speedster. Marvel Studios can’t use the term mutant, so they have to find a workaround for the silver speedster. While there has been no decision right now, Johnson is the top guy. With Johnson‘s name being thrown out there now, we have a rough idea of what type of combo Marvel is going for. Pietro Maximoff‘s sister, the Scarlet Witch, has been rumored to be based on Saoirse Ronan. So now we can imagine those two coming in and butting heads with the original Avengers. It also looks as if Marvel is hitting back at Fox for using the character in Bryan Singer‘s Days of Future Past (played by Evan Peters). Matthew Vaughn and Mark Millar are of course involved with the Fox superhero movies, so it looks like they may have Kick-Ass pulled out from under them and used in Avengers 2. RDJ is still in negotiations for the highly anticipated sequel, but Chris Hemsworth, Chris Evans, Mark Ruffalo, Samuel L. Jackson, Jeremy Renner, and Scarlett Johansson will return. What do you think about Johnson possibly being Quicksilver?
