A Frontrunner For NIGHTWING In BATMAN VS. SUPERMAN Emerges

by

nightwingJust the other day we heard the rumor that Nightwing may appear in Batman vs. Superman to help lend the older and weary Caped Crusader a hand against the Man of Steel. Latino-Review ran the story as a big ol’ rumor since they couldn’t get anyone to comment on it, but tonight The Wrap have not only confirmed the rumor but found out who the frontrunner for Dick Grayson is.

According to The Wrap, Adam Driver (HBO‘s GIRLS) is Warner Bros. frontrunner for the big role. While there are at least two other actors in contention, Driver is the studios #1 choice right now. The actor has a very unique look that matches the description put out that tipped Latino-Review off pretty well. The role was said to be for a “young John Hawkes” type who was around 5’10. Driver, standing at 6’3 will be a worthy sidekick for Affleck‘s Batman (who stands at 6’4). Driver served in the Marines after Sept. 11th and recently starred in WB‘s This is Where I Live, in which he made a big impression on the studio. It is an odd choice for Nightwing, but Driver is a great actor. It will be interesting to see if the other names on the list emerge anytime soon. It really looks like Man of Steel will be introducing a plethora of comic book characters to really get the DC Cinematic Universe going. This makes those Wonder Woman rumors look more likely now. What do you think about Driver possibly being Nightwing? Can you see him as Ben Affleck‘s former young ward?
