7 More Of DC’s April Gatefold Covers Revealed

no wtfThese could be considered spoilers if you would rather wait until April and get the potential shock of opening up the gatefold cover and seeing these images, so some of you may want to turn away now. If you’re not too concerned, keep reading. As you may remember, April was supposed to be WTF Month for DC. The plan was eventually scrapped, but the idea behind the gatefold covers is to make you at least think about that phrase. We saw Greg Capullo‘s cover for Batman yesterday with Bruce Wayne holding a gun on “his greatest enemyJim Gordon. Today we have 7 more covers you can take a look at. Bleeding Cool rounded them all up, but the covers come from DC’s Source Blog, CBR, MTV and ComicVine.

The Batwing cover seems to confirm rumors that Jimmy Palmiotti and Justin V. Gray are taking the book in a new direction with a new Batwing. Dial H must not have gotten the memo about WTF being scrapped. Earth 2 teases the return of Mister Miracle and Stormwatch shows off the reboot taking place as Jim Starling comes in and takes over writing duties. Suicide Squad was released a little earlier than planned, and it shows the re-entry of the Unknown Soldier to the DC 52. The final cover is for Red Hood and the Outlaws as released on the artist’s site. It could well change, but that’s what was originally drawn up. What do you think of the covers? Any grab your attention more than the others?

  1. The Batwing one interests me even though I don’t read it. The new Batwing looks a lot like a Batman Beyond version of Batman.
