5 New Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D. Clips Play Up The Marvel Movie Connection
We are two weeks away from the highly-anticipated premiere of Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. The pilot episode is written and directed by Joss Whedon, and some newly released clips show the nerd icon is bringing some of his trademark style seen in his classic shows like Firefly and Buffy. The clips give us some entirely new footage that we haven’t seen in a lot of the other promos, teasers, and behind the scenes videos.
The first two brief scene snippets give us a better look at Ming-Na Wen’s Agent Melinda May. Agent May is a legendary S.H.I.E.L.D. operative who has given up fieldwork for an office job. Oart of the mystery of S.H.I.E.L.D. is not only finding out how Coulson came back to life, but what’s up with Agent May. In addition to the mysterious May, we see a few clips of Agent Grant Ward (who was given some of the highest marks since Romanov aka Black Widow), Skye the computer hacker and leader of the Rising Tide meeting Agents Coulson and Ward, and an introduction to scientists Fitz and Simmons. The clips play up the Marvel movie connections more than anything we’ve seen from the pilot so far. You not only have Maria Hill and the Black Widow name drop, we can also get a quick glimpse of Hulk and Iron man in the background on some of the computer monitors. Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. premieres September 24th. What do you think of the latest batch of clips?
