31 in 31 V.2 Day 7

by

Why….hello there, everybody. Today is day 7 of 31 in 31 and we’re going to have a little chat about Ghostbusters!

This 1984 film is a classic among classics. It’s one of my personal favorite because this is the very first movie I ever remember watching. It stars Bull Murray, Dan Aykroyd, Harold Ramis, and Ernie Hudson (I always felt Winston got the short end of the stick in these movies). Anyway, Ghostbusters is about a group of scientists/parapsychologists who work at a university that just so happen to get sacked. Once they get fired from the university, they decide to go into business for themselves as men to go around busting ghosts with the help of their highly scientific equipment, the proton-packs and ghost traps.

Ghostbusters is one of those classic films that everyone has seen at some point in their life no matter when they were born. The logo of the ghost with the circle/slash is incredibly recognizable to this day. This movie has spawned a sequel (with another one possibly in the works), a cartoon series in the 1980s (The Real Ghostbusters), a sequel cartoon series in the 1990s (Extreme Ghostbusters), multiple toy lines, and a handful of video games. Though it’s a comedy, this makes for a great Halloween movie because it’s all about the ghosts!

Happy Hauntings!
