’300: Rise of An Empire’ Bumped From August 2013 to March 2014 Release Date
Were you excited for Noam Murro‘s “300: Rise of An Empire“? Well, unfortunately, Warner Bros. Pictures announced today that they will be pushing the film back seven months of its original release date. It was slated for a August 2nd, 2013, release date, However, now it got moved to a March 7th, 2014, release date. Bummer town. It was mostly likely due to it going up against Universal Pictures‘ “2 Guns” and Sony Pictures‘ “The Smurfs 2” that weekend. Well, as of right now, it’ll be going up against Robert Downey Jr.‘s “Mr. Peabody & Sherman.”
While we patiently wait, how about looking at some cool photos. Hopefully that’ll tie us over for a couple MORE months…
Starring Sullivan Stapleton, Eva Green, Lena Headey, Hans Matheson, Rodrigo Santoro, David Wenham, Igal Naor, Callan Mulvey, Jack O’Connell, and Andrew Tiernan, “300: Rise of An Empire” will be based on Frank Miller’s latest graphic novel “Xerxes” and told in the breathtaking visual style of the blockbuster “300,” this new chapter of the epic saga takes the action to a fresh battlefield—on the sea—as Greek general Themistokles (Sullivan Stapleton) attempts to unite all of Greece by leading the charge that will change the course of the war. “300: Rise of an Empire” pits Themistokles against the massive invading Persian forces led by mortal-turned-god Xerxes (Rodrigo Santoro), and Artemesia (Eva Green), vengeful commander of the Persian navy. Written by Zack Snyder and Kurt Johnstad, “300:Rise of An Empire” will be directed by Noam Murro and hit theaters March 7, 2014, in 3D/2D theaters and IMAX.
