2013’s Best Superhero Films
2013 has had a whole crowd of new superhero films flooding into cinema’s across the globe. From Iron Man 3 to Kick Ass 2, everyone has their favourites but which superhero movie will be crowned the best of 2013?
Man of Steel
We learn that as a child, Superman was sent to Earth from a dying planet. He then poses as a journalist and must defend his new home from the same evil that destroyed his last. The film has amazing visuals and acting, however, the lack of character development seen in the Man of Steel is disappointing and lessens the overall impact of the movie.
Iron Man 3
The movie was produced by Kevin Feige of Marvel Studios and tells the story of Tony Stark, played by Robert Downey, who embarks on a quest to find who was responsible for destroying his personal world but what he discovers is something far more sinister than he expected. The film was both critically and commercially successful, grossing over $1.2 billion worldwide. The ever growing popularity of Iron Man is evident. They have not one, not two, but four Iron Man slots games for you to enjoy!
Thor: The Dark World
This humorous movie follows Thor as he fights to overcome Malekith, who wants to use the Aether to destroy Asgard. Thor devises a plan with his brother Loki to defeat Malekith but struggles with trust issues. The film is perfect for comic fans as well as the casual movie fan. Jam packed with humour and action, this film is truly great.
After refusing mortality from a friend, Logan is shot and his wound does not heal. He takes it upon himself to protect the granddaughter of his deceased friend as he attempts to find what has happened to him. Hugh Jackman portrays the Wolverine character perfectly and the film itself stays true to the comics, making ‘The Wolverine’ one of the best superhero movies this year.
This superhero action-comedy film portrays the story of Dave who wants to create a superhero team with Mindy. However Mindy has problems of her own which leads Dave to join forces with Justice Forever. After a while, the world’s first super villain strikes back and it’s up to Mindy and Dave to overcome him. Unfortunately, the terrible jokes in this film and the lack of good acting makes it one of the worst superhero movies out in 2013, tough luck Kick-Ass!
